Our History
Bernard Ruben founded Plaza Properties in 1959. For Bernard, this company was never just a business venture. It was an opportunity to provide the people and businesses in his community with high-value, high-quality products where they could live a fulfilling life or run a successful business.
From his very first multi-family apartment project Bernard thought first and foremost of his residents. He was committed to building homes and planning properties that truly fit individuals’ and families’ needs. He successfully built Plaza Properties’ reputation for service and excellence along with each new product.
Even as Plaza Properties has grown over the past three decades and pursued new areas of the real estate industry, the focus has remained very solidly on the people and businesses that depend upon our products.
Today and every day, Plaza Properties continues to deliver the values and mission that inspired Bernard’s very first project many decades ago. Even as Plaza Properties has evolved into one of Central Ohio’s largest owners of residential, commercial, and mixed use properties, each and every project is still based on one simple premise: striving to do whatever it takes to bring the Plaza Life to every resident and tenant.
